Grandma

Our last meeting was in the sunset hour of a Friday last May. She was taking a nap... She was so surprised to see me out of the blue. She was almost deaf and her eyes were quite weak. The first few minutes was talking loud about general greetings and checking... as usual she showed off her consciousness by asking about Reyhan and her family, my new work, etc. But then I realized there is no point in shouting and bothering with her deaf ears. I sat there for about half-an-hour and just looked at her. At her face, old skins, signs of age and maturity and wisdom. It was an experience to spend 3o minutes just looking at a human. And she was ok with that. she did the same with her weak eyes and just smiled once in a while. And then I left, hoping for our next meeting... and this morning, she left all of us.

Sleep well maman bozorgi. you gave so much peace to us. you deserve a quiet and peaceful sleep!
