Democratic party

Democratic party of US truly pisses me off! Just think, how Republicans were able to grill Clinton for the most stupid case (sex scandal), and now Democrats can't even challenge the administration for fundamental mismanagement like the response to the Katrina. These guys are worst in organization and having an agenda! At a time that Bush admin. is sandwiched by numerous cases in courts, the war in Iraq, Katrina's response and even from their own conservative base, Democrats are literally acting like a dead party. Even in the case of the nominzation of Ms. Miers for suprem court, it's seems to me that these guys are basically silent only because of the stupid notion of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Although she's not a hard core conservative and might be less evil to some extent, but I strongly believe that she's not competenet and does not qualify for such an important position.
If Democrates can't define themselves and their agenda at the time of the most horrible president of our time, when are they gonna be able to do so? I believe that the spectrum of democratic party is really too wide and some sort of branching should happen sooner or later. And I hope the branching comes from the progressive side of the party. As Michael Moore says, practically the other half of the party is republican wanna bes and it's a waste to expect any progress from that side.
Even if Democrats sweep the votes in Senate and House next year, do you think they're going to achieve anything for people? I doubt it.
